Now not only is Catherine Bach one of the hottest tv cult sirens she even was a fashion trendsetter. One of the reasons why I love doing these posts is that I constantly learn new things. For example I didn´t know that the name for the trademark cutout shorts Catherine is wearing on the show is Daisy Dukes. That´s right, they were named after the woman that made them famous.
And to think that they were originally planning to get a girl that looked like Dolly Parton and that Catherine wasn´t sure she could wear her shorts on the show. Another reason why I enjoy these posts so much is that I never know where I´m going to end up - which you can see by the fact that there are other screen hotties in this post aside from Catherine.
I also didn´t know that her full name is Catherine Bachmann and that her father is german. So, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was on german tv when I was very young and there were some reruns on some tv station a few years ago but I seldom caught any episodes. I saw a few ones in Spain because there was nothing on the tv at a good time.
I think I wouldn´t know much about the show at all if not for John Schneider ( another actor with a german background ) who played Bauregard " Bo " Duke and who now plays Johnathan Kent on SMALLVILLE. They even had Tom Wopat who played Luke Duke as an old friend at the show.
In any case, after seeing all the hot clips with Catherine Bach as Daisy Duke while doing this post I have decided to brush up my pop culture knowledge by getting the first season of THE DUKES OF HAZZARD from amazon since they are selling it for ten bucks.

Besides her role of Daisy Duke Catherine is best known for playing one of the chicks of the Zipper Duo of CANNONBALL RUN 2. The two megahot babes who get their way by showing some cleavage and making promises they don´t intend to keep. Just like in real life. So don´t say you can´t learn anything in movies.
Now in the first CANNONBALL RUN movie Catherine´s part was played by cinema cult siren Adrienne Barbeau and believe me, mispelling her name Adrienne Babeau is a common mistake. Adrienne is a major hottie and upgraded such movies like the first SWAMP THING movie ( the good one ), THE FOG and ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK.
Adrienne plays the same character as Catherine later on, as there is always a blonde zipperbabe and a brunette zipperbabe. You know, whenever the first two Cannonball Run movies are on I watch them, because not only do they have such hot chicks like Adrienne and Catherine, there are also some uncredited babes with some serious cleavage. I don´t know, back then a comedy just had to have a certain amount of naked chicks or chicks in bikinis or with wet t - shirts - or at least some huge cleavage - to be considered a comedy.
Something just went wrong from there. In any case there is one scene where the Sheik orders food at a drive in and the waitress there has an unbelievable cleavage with two big, ripe melons. So far I couldn´t find out who plays that part.
Talking about different actresses in the same role ( and finding out stuff I didn´t know before ) I also never knew that there was a movie called THE DUKES OF HAZZARD - THE BEGINNING which had a boobielicious April Scott in the role of Daisy Duke. Man, she´s smoking hot and I´m really anxious to watch the movie that I found pretty cheap on amazon. Judging from the clips the scene where she bends over the ice box and you get a good view of her butt alone is worth the price of admission.
And speaking about other hot actresses in the same role no post about Daisy Duke could be complete without mentioning Jessica Simpson. I have to confess that her hotness has suffered a bit lately which is one of the reasons why I still haven´t gotten around to finish the second post about her. One day I´ll have the time for it but in the meantime I posted all new clips I found of her while doing the research in the first post. Nevertheless, I haven´t seen her Dukes movie so that all I can say at the moment is that at least the movie was good for one thing : one of her best videos ever with her rendition of THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING.
